Meet Alison
My name is Alison Ashbourne. I'm a surface pattern designer living on a secluded green acre of bushland hidden away in the beautiful Hunter Valley of New South Whales, Australia. I grew up surrounded by gorgeous fabrics, handmade clothes and quilts, crochet and woodworking created with love by my parents, grandparents and ancestors that will continue to be handed down through the generations. From an early age I understood the importance of being surrounded by beautiful things that are valued and bring meaning and joy to our lives.
I am inspired by the work of William Morris, Henry Dearle and the beliefs of the Arts and Crafts movement. I spend my days living a quiet but intentional life gathering inspiration, sketching and creating my designs.
I create detailed, vibrant, flowing designs representing the flora, fauna and the diverse world around me.
I believe creating beautiful patterns is a perfect way for me to connect with others and share the values I hold dear.
